We took Cole to the pool for the first time this past weekend, and he wasn't quite sure what to think about it. He didn't hate it, but was definitely a little unsure about what was going on. He's a good little kicker though and I'm sure he'll be a good swimmer when he's a little bit older. :)

Fun Family Time
Shoulder ride with Daddy! |
Look at all that hair! Cole's getting more on the top of his head and losing all the sweet baby hair on the back. |
My little baby has disappeared and now I have a little boy! He looks so old in his church clothes. |

Today was Cole's 4-month check-up with the pediatrician, and it's official; he's huge! Cole is 16lbs 6ozs (75th percentile), 17.25inch head circumference (85th percentile), and 27inches long (95th percentile). He smiles and chats with us all the time now, and his fuzz is slowly turning into cute baby hair.
I am also now officially a stay-at-home mom after quiting my job last Friday, which was bitter-sweet. I took Cole with me and showed him off to all of my friends and colleagues as I was saying goodbye, and the first thing that a Chinese lady I worked with said was, "Wow - he has huge ears!". I wasn't quite sure how to respond and everyone started laughing...apparently big ears in Chinese culture is the best compliment you can give a baby (it means they're going to be really intelligent). We not only have an adorable little boy, but he's going to be super-smart too. :)

This is Cole's "I'm full and happy..." face. I love the puckered lips!
It took several days to get Cole used to riding face-forward in his jogging stroller, but he is now ready for our family jogs.
We got an exer-saucer from a family in our ward that was moving, and Cole loves looking at the toys (we're not quite ready to reach out and grab them yet), but his favorite thing to do is suck on the fabric.
We tried feeding Cole some rice cereal a few nights in a row to see if it helped him sleep longer at night, but to no avail. He looked really cute in his highchair eating it though. :)
