Cole and I went and visited my parents in Albuquerque this past week and had a blast. One of the highlights of the week was going to the "Time Out for Women" conference with my mom and sisters (without Cole - thanks grandpa for babysitting!).
I had plenty of fun with Cole too. We went hiking, played in the sand volleyball court, swung on the swing, and found every rock within a mile. I don't think Cole has ever spent so much time outside, but he LOVED helping Grandpa in the yard and playing with the dogs (he's getting much better about petting them instead of pulling their tails/legs/ears).
(Notice the food storage and plywood barriers my dad had to set up so the entire house wasn't ripped apart.) |
Under the kitchen desk behind the chair was the dog's "safe place" from little kids until Cole came along. He simply did not understand why he couldn't crawl under there and play with her - they both fit! (Don't mind the scabbed nose - he decided to dive into the springs on the trampoline headfirst.)
These next couple are of Cole "on the prowl" for dog. She managed to slide under and back out from the dining room table much faster than Cole did. His poor cold brought such a bad rash, but he didn't seem to notice at all.
Another one of his new favorite things to do is open and close doors, especially when you're on the other side and he's either locking you in or he's hiding from you.
Boy were my boys happy to see each other when we got home though. :)
