March 2025

 Gymnastics!

Meet season is upon us. Lexi has been working hard this year!

Pirate Murder Mystery
Dave and I had a fun evening with friends doing a pirate murder mystery.

We also went to a 70's themed birthday party... Dave's hair!

Skiing with Dad
Dave took Lexi and Clara skiing this month.

Washington D.C. - Spring Break!
We took the opportunity to visit Dave's sister, Melissa, and her family in Burke, VA this spring break. We ventured out to D.C. and saw all the good things as well as spent time with her family. Such a fun trip!

Ethan and Ryan LOVED Dave - it was so funny how they kept trying to kiss him.

The flowers on this magnolia tree were AMAZING!

We timed things just perfect to see the cherry blossoms all over town.

Bill of Rights

Declaration of Independence

Constitution of the United States

Hope Diamond

We took a stroll along the Potomac River.

The U.S. Capital Building

At the time of our trip, President Donald Trump had only been in office (for his 2nd term) for a few months, and was making big changes in the government. He was basically closing down the federal department of education and there were protests and lots of new coverage about it. We just happened to walk by the building the department of education was housed in and saw some of the protests and news crews. We tried showing the kids that they were witnessing history...not sure how much of it stuck.

While we were at the Capital Melissa took Samantha and Benson to the Lego Museum and the Museum of the Army together.

We also took the kids to the Spy museum, where we each were given a secret identity and had to accomplish a mission by the end of the museum. It was so fun to have our own spy identity and to see all of the brilliant spy things and stories.

Mini golfing with the cousins in beautiful weather.

The Air and Space Museum was on the way to the airport, so we stopped and explored on our way out.

Other March Happenings
Lexi made some almond joy bars for her Young Women's Class all by herself. Proud girl!

We took the kids to see Matilda done by one of the local children's theater companies. They loved it!

Aren't these the most beautiful fresh eggs you have ever seen?! The kids have started selling them to the neighbors.

It was Clara's turn to host activity days and she wanted to do 9-square and night at the museum games with the girls at our house.
