May was a crazy busy month for us. We post-poned having Cole's birthday party until May because he really wanted it outside at a park (we were waiting for "nice" weather). It was beautiful weather the days before and after his party, but the morning of his party was a balmy 32 degrees and super windy. He still wanted it outside, so we had a couple quick games and treats and then everyone retreated back to their warm cars and homes. Needless to say the turnout wasn't quite as good as expected. He loved it though.

Happy Kiddos = Happy Mommy
Cole lost his second tooth in May. It was much less dramatic
than the first, but still just as fun to have the tooth fairy come.
Cole had a cute end-of-year performance with his Preschool. 11 boys and 1 girl in his class. Can you guess who he (and everyone in the class) liked best? The girl.
We were invited to a fun dinner with our (ex)builder where they had a
face painter and prizes for the kids. Lexi insisted on being a penguin.

running around in the sprinklers in shorts and t-shirts...

We made a quick trip up to Utah for Dave's cousin's wedding and got to see Grandma Beutler, Melissa, Mike and Lizzie. The kids loved all the attention. :)
Melissa had a snail problem in her backyard and paid Cole to collect all the snails he could find. Her caveat was that we had to take them with us. Half way home we realized they were escaping in our van. Yuck!!!
We also got to see Russ and Katie. Their gecko, Gill, and their dog were big hits with the kids.

We were also crazy enough to take the kids on our ward camp out the end of May. They loved cooking hot dogs over the fire and playing with glow sticks in the dark, but let's just say that we don't do well all sleeping in the same tent. The next morning we went to the sand dunes right by where we were camping and the kids had a blast. There was a small stream that you had to cross by foot to get to the dunes, and we spent the morning playing in the stream and digging in the sand. It was extraordinarily windy, and we all looked like wet dogs toward the end, but everyone was happy and slept on the drive home (they NEVER sleep in the car, so this was amazing).
Cole is always on the hunt for bunnies in our yard.
