Fall Break!
This year we took the kids to the Great Sand Dunes National Park a couple hours south of Colorado Springs for a few days. It was very....sandy. The kids had fun running up and down the dunes, climbing to the tops of them, burying each other, and sledding down the big hills. I think Mac loved it more than anyone. Rolling around in sand and running up and down with the kids was a dream come true for him.
Bryce's Baptism
The girls sang with their cousin, Grace, for the musical number, with Katie playing the flute.
Pumpkin Carving
October Fun
This was when we made flower crowns with the activity day girls. These girls are so sweet and fun to be around. It's hard to believe that Clara will be in Young Women's in a couple months.
Gathering eggs is a highlight of my day. It's akin to harvesting vegetables from your garden. Today we got a teeny-tiny egg compared to our normal eggs. Nature is funny sometimes!
A quiet moment in general conference where all of our kids were in the same room, semi-paying attention and quiet. I had to document.
Shirley came over to deliver the final finished pottery that the kids made with her. It was so fun to see how things turned out!
Benson loves his lipstick kisses from Grandma Blacker.
I spend A LOT of time in the car these days, shuttling kids between school and all of their activities. This was my view on the freeway driving home one night from dropping off Lexi at gymnastics. It was a tender mercy for me, helping me remember that I can find joy even in the mundane.
I spent a couple days making many freezer meals. Hopefully this will feed us for a long time on those busy weekdays!
Haircut day! Clara's hair is so long that she had to stand up so the stylist could trim the bottom. This girl is team long hair forever.
The younger 4 kids and I hiked Pulpit Rock with some friends on a day off school. Benson even made it the whole way up and back!
Myrna moved into our basement apartment this month. She is so sweet and kind. She brought all the kids down and taught them how to make homemade tamales.
Benson and I had a mommy-son date one afternoon. Focus on the Family play area and an ice cream cone for the win.
My ladies' hiking group has been a blessing for me this fall!
