Happy Summer!

I have a love/hate relationship with summer. Beautiful weather, more time with the kids, a little bit of a more relaxed schedule, vacations. On the other hand there's more time with the kids, trying not to fight with each other, family vacations (which let's be honest, are way more work than normal life for me), and trying to figure out 100 new things to do with the kids....

Benson is 7 months old!

Poor Cole has had awful allergies this year. His eyes are swelling shut and he can hardly breathe. A trip to the allergist is booked, but not for a few months. Hopefully he can survive until then!

A water bouncy house, new beach towels and watermelon make for one happy summer day. The kids spent ALL DAY out here playing. Downside was that Clara's sunscreen just washed off (even after several different applications) and she got the burn of a lifetime.

Happy 40th to my friend, Emily! I sure love this lady.

Happy Father's Day!

Yellowstone!

We took a week-long family vacation to Yellowstone National Park. It was actually the perfect year to go, because COVID measures had the park lodging almost empty and there was a fraction of the normal visitors. We were able to find parking at all the spots we wanted to get out and see, and only got stopped in one Byson traffic jam. There are always a lot of ups and downs on our family vacations, but thanks to my mom and dad coming with us this one went smoother than anticipated. Hiking around with 5 young kids amongst canyons, waterfalls, rivers, lakes, geysers, mud pits and Byson is no joke! Hopefully the older ones remember it...;-)
