This smiley kid is 9 months old!

Cole was finally able to get into the allergist - apparently he's allergic to every kind of grass, flower, and tree around here. Poor kid! We have started down the road of allergy shots, which has been particularly difficult given Cole's anxiety over needles. Lots of reassuring, tight hugs, and milkshakes involved.

My summer flowers make me so happy! I especially love seeing everything overflowing and happy the end of August.

Clara got reading glasses! That makes 3 kiddos this year that have gotten glasses. Time for vision insurance!

I tried my hand at a gourmet, from scratch birthday cake. Three tiered coconut cake with lemon curd and raspberry mouse filling and coconut buttercream. Yummmmy.

My little brother, Nathan Blacker , was in a serious bike accident on 8/28/21 and broke his neck. Miraculously, he was not instantly paralyzed. Over the couple of days since his accident we have seen miracles happen as he was helicoptered to Oklahoma City and had emergency spine surgery (the nearest large hospital to Lawton, OK, where he lives with his family). He has some new hardware in his neck that he will be sporting for the rest of his life, but he is recovering very well, all things considered. They moved him out of the ICU, and he even took a few steps today. He is not really able to use his left arm or hand at this point, but it is yet to be seen what kind of permanent damage will remain.
