The Cog Railway

We took our family on the newly restored Cog Railway to the top of Pike's Peak here in Colorado Springs. The kids loved riding the train up the mountain and the special donuts made at the very tippy top of this 14'er. It was windy up there though!

Macy was worn out by all the fun and fell asleep in Dave's arms on the ride down.

New York, New York!

Dave and I took a much-needed couples weekend to New York City together. Our very expensive hotel room didn't exactly blow us away.

Dave was very excited to see the Fox News Headquarters.

We did a tour of the statue of Liberty and the 9/11 memorial.

Dinner with Joe and Kaela who happened to be in the city the same weekend we were.

We saw Waitress and Hamilton while we were there. Broadway plays are legit!

School Pictures 😕

Lexi's class goes through an emotions exercise every day and this is what she recently wrote. Breaks my heart! This girl internalizes all of the struggles of the people around her and it is a heavy weight on her.

Happy 10 months! Benson is crawling now and it is near impossible to keep him contained, but he is one happy camper about it!

One of Benson's favorite things to do right now is pull Macy's hair and listen to her squeal. Can you blame him?

Another one of his favorite things to do right now is brush teeth with Grandma. Her electric toothbrush vibrates and he can't get enough!

Soaking up the last of the warm weather...Cole has caught and "raised" many grasshoppers over the summer, and occasionally (usually) they don't last long. He made a grasshopper graveyard and started making each of them headstones to remember them. This has to be one of my favorite memories of my Coley Poley.

The hippo at our zoo had a baby! It is the cutest thing.

The temple is my peaceful place.

Happy Birthday, Grandpa!

It took me many failed cakes, but I finally managed to make a recess cup chocolate peanut butter cake for my dad for his birthday. Altitude is my nemesis!
