February 2024

Happy 6th Birthday, Macy!

Benson and Macy's friend, Andorra, also had a fun birthday party. Petting zoo and farm animals included!

Welcome, Jennifer!
We have an au pair that's going to be living with us for the next year, helping us with everything kid related during our move, the summer, and while Aubrey is working this fall. Jennifer is a 20 yr-old from a small town in the Netherlands.

She brought some bath water coloring as a gift for Benson - I've never seen water so purple!

Right after Jennifer arrived we had our biggest snow storm of the year. For a girl who has barely seen a dusting of snow, it was a little bit of a shock for her. Lots of fun though.

Happy Valentines Day!

The girls' elementary school (DCCE) has an annual valentine's box competition where they can make a box to go along with one of their favorite books and they display them in the library. When the various classes go to the library during the week the kids can vote on the ones they like the best and the top 3 get a prize. Clara made a dog valentine's box with Grandpa last month and Dave helped Lexi make a robot valentine's box too. It was dramatic to say the least. Lexi got 1st place and Clara got 2nd place!

February Fun

Lexi competed in the "Battle of the Books" competition in our region this year. She read something like 30 different books and was on a team that competed to answer random questions about all of the books. She read so much!

Lexi and Cole were able to go with their Blacker Grandparents to the Denver temple to perform baptisms for the dead. It was extra special because they got to go with Grandpa's recently baptized friend, Alex, for the first time.

We took the girls to see Noteworthy in concert. They loved it!

These are pictures I got from my cousin of my Grandma and Grandpa Blacker's backyard grandkid oasis (Lovel and Marvin Blacker). Every time we would visit we spent lots of time playing out here. Grandpa built it all himself. Now that they have passed and their house is sold, it is sad to see this go.

House Progress
Lots of mud for Benson to play in after all the snow.

Dave and Dad have been working hard to get our solar panels and system up and running. Not quite there yet, but making progress.

Lots of people working at the house this day! So close...!
