End of Summer Fun

My police escort.

 Labor-Day Lift Off
We finally made it out to the labor-day lift off here in Colorado Springs!

Breckenridge
The younger kids and I spent the night at Russ and Katie's cabin with my Mom and Dad and Grandma Crockett. Cabins with cousins comes highly recommended. We also explored Breckenridge, ate at a yummy restaurant, took the Gondola up the mountain, did some fun outdoor trampolines and ropes courses, and of course had a fire with s'mores in the evening. Benson LOVES his cousin, Grace, and asks to play with her constantly.

Clara playing the Ukulele at school.

Macy's school had "Mother Goose" Day, where each student recited their favorite nursery rhyme and dressed up to go along with it. Macy recited the rhyme, "One, Two, Buckle my shoe". The rhyme ends with "nine, ten, a big fat hen", so she decided to dress up as a big fat hen. She did great!

Dave got all of the rails in place for the solar panels on our new home.

One tuckered out little officer. He has been living in this costume for the entire month.

Watching soccer in the sun can be hot! Clara and Macy are both doing soccer this month.

Lexi had some friends over to watch a movie and Benson plopped himself down in the middle of the two older girls and made himself comfortable for the show. 🤣

Primary Program
Every year the children in our church congregation put on a program during sacrament meeting to share what they have been learning about. This year we learned about the New Testament. Lexi, Clara and Macy did a great job sharing their parts and singing the last verse of "I feel my Savior's Love" together. There were definitely some nerves, but we're so proud of them for getting up in front of people and sharing about Christ.

Miami
Dave and I got away for about a week to Miami together - much needed couple time! Dave had a conference to attend and I tagged along to relax and adventure with him after his lectures.

We visited the Ft. Lauderdale temple while we were there. Miami traffic is BRUTAL.

After a session at the temple we visited a crab joint and had a seafood boil, with crabs, mussels, crawdads, shrimp, sausage, corn and potatoes. It came out in this giant bubble that they boiled it in and was so fun to eat!

Jellyfish

Dave went diving for an afternoon and got to pet some nurse sharks.

I used the alone time I had to work on the family blog. Not a bad view while I worked.

We also went to a John Mayer acoustic only concert at the Hard Rock Hotel while we were there. It was so good! We ended up on a random double date with a couple from Ft. Lauderdale that were air traffic controllers and had a fun dinner together (the restaurant had a long wait and only had a table for a group of 4, so we volunteered to be a group of 4). It has been a long time since I've been to a concert like this - it's almost more fun to watch the die-hard fans and crazy drunk people (almost), but John Mayer is impressive.
